Photo of Kilmonivaig Cemetery in Spean Bridge courtesy of Ed from PA. This site is about ancestors up to my grandparents and their children. No further forward than that. Initially with the help of the Glasgow, Fort William, and Clydebank Council offices, and latterly Scotland's People, I've been able to complete most of their BDMs. In a year or so the last pieces of their information will appear on Scotland's People, I'm in no hurry whatsoever. I have to thank friends and relatives for their valuable information, and of course Rootschat.
The Wilsons, Kincaids, and Ralstons remain a problem, they just don't want to be found (YET!). Somewhere they've left a paper trail, I'll find it! Update - the final pieces of Rebecca and Catherine's families are now on SP. Two highland names to complete.
That's what I set out to do.
All I'll be doing now is looking for Rebecca's birth details, and those of her parents. News from Carole in PA -she has found John and Rebecca and their family at 36 Bombay St in the 1901 Belfast Census - Rebecca gives birthplace as New York. According to the 1901 Census Rebecca and John and their children were in Bombay St then - my father was born in Duntocher, so the family for some reason moved to Duntocher, then to Belfast, then back to Duntocher?
Note - family were all Church of Ireland.
The recent find on the Belfast 1901 census shows John and his family in Belfast in 1901.
So John and Rebecca were in
Glasgow 1894 - wedding
Tyrone 1885/5 - birth of 1st Maud
Partick, Glasgow in 1895 - birth of David
Duntocher 1897 - birth of Robert
Belfast 1901 - birth of Bernard
Belfast 1901 Bombay ST - 1901 census
1906 onwards - Duntocher birth of William and others.
